Singapore National Day
Singapore National Day, celebrated nine thousand miles from Singapore by the diaspora community in San Francisco. A day of food and celebration, and a badge that belongs to both places at once.
Two skylines, one arch
The day is about a community celebrating home from far away, with food at the center of it, so the badge holds both places with equal love. One arched frame, landmarks from both sides sharing it: the Merlion and a durian on one end, the Golden Gate Bridge and a cable car on the other, Coit Tower and Singapore's housing blocks standing in the middle as if they've always been neighbours.
Red and white are Singapore's flag colours, so the palette was set before anything was drawn. The green is the one playful liberty, there because a durian is green and the badge needs its wink.
